March 2024 Writing Update

First week of the month seems like a good time to do a writing update, so here ya go:

🏠Earthquake House

I know I said that v6 was almost done back in Feb, but now it is REALLY almost done. I feel good about it. I am on my second-to-last readthrough, and all major tweaks have been made. Next comes crafting a query letter and synopsis that will hopefully catch the eye of an agent. That part sucks, so it is entirely possible that I am procrastinating...

👧🏿🐉The Others

Reminder: this is the sequel to The Reality Warper. It might not sound like a lot, but I finished Chapter 2 of v2 last week! With life being what it is right now, this is an enormous achievement, and I feel better about my progress on this manuscript than I have in a very long time.

📖Picture Books

Giraffes CAN Talk has been sent out to agents! I have received a few responses already, some very encouraging, but no agent as yet. But never fear! If I don't find an agent, I will self-publish this piece by the end of 2024.

🏆Contests and Anthologies

I wrote my Round 2 submission for the NYC Midnight 250-word Microfiction contest in Feb, and I signed up for the 100-word contest as well. 100 words! I'm going to have to get very creative to get my point across...

📕Short Stories

I continue to take my short stories to my writing group, and continue to receive excellent feedback. No time has been scheduled for working on the stories as yet, but I think I have plenty of other stuff to keep me busy.
