I thought I’d take a moment to tell you all a little bit ore about my first book!

What if it’s all still real?

Ten-year-old Evelyn Acorn’s world is thrown upside down when Vendavi, the nanny AI tasked with raising and teaching her, starts to behave very strangely. Everyone knows that there is nothing left outside of Inner. Everyone knows that living alone in a cell is for your own good.

So why does Vendavi keep showing her things that aren’t real anymore? What’s with the crazy raccoons, and why can she fly in simulations even when Vendavi has the realism features cranked all the way up?

When Ev decides to find out what, exactly, happens to children when they disappear from the IM network, she finds herself in a world that was supposed to be extinct. Has she finally escaped? Is she finally able to live for herself?

Or is this new world just a bigger cage?

Ten Things I Like About The Reality Warper

I can be very hard on myself, so to help me practice, here are ten things I like about The Reality Warper:

1. It’s the first book I’ve ever finished, beginning to end.
2. I learned a lot about how to write as well as my own writing preferences in the process.
3. The book’s twists and turns fit together really well, in my opinion, with the right amount of foreshadowing, etc., to keep readers interested.
4. I really relate to my main character in some very core ways.
5. I like the depth of my characters (although I feel that I’ve done a better job of this in subsequent works).
6. There is an underlying message of hope and redemption.
7. There’s a dragon! No matter how old I get, I think that there will always be dragons.
8. The amount of thought I gave this book and it’s sequels is making it VERY easy for me to write Book 2 (called The Battle for Alerrawia).
9. Granny Oakwood holds a very special place in my heart.
10. The themes of friendship and not letting the ‘big’ people push you around.
